• Jenny Kendler Studio Visit - December 2022

    We concluded our Fall 2022 tour season last month with a private tour at the home and studio of artist and climate activist Jenny Kendler. This was a unique opportunity for the tour group to get an intimate understanding of Jenny’s work as she walked us through her practice and gave detailed insight into the art objects in her studio. Thank you to Jenny for the phenomenal opportunity! We are looking forward to our upcoming Spring tours.

  • Yinka Shonibare CBE at the Driehaus Museum

    Rena Sternberg Art Tours recently visited the Driehaus Museum for a private tour of their first contemporary art exhibition featuring acclaimed artist Yinka Shonibare CBE. The British and Nigerian's multidisciplinary work features bright colors and loud patterns, offering a commentary on culture, society, history, textiles, and colonialism.   • GETTING READY FOR MILWAUKEE!

    Rena Sternberg is pleased to announce a trip to Milwaukee, Wisconsin as the final art tour of a successful Spring 2015 tour season! The Milwaukee tour will consist of a visit to the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee’s Institute of Visual Art to view a mixed media group show exploring the pressing theme of environmentalism and its sociopolitical consequences. Following a tasty lunch, we will also visit the studios of Richard Galling and Katy Cowan for a behind-the-scenes look at the work of these Milwaukee-based artists.

  • CHERYL POPE ARTIST TALK

    Join us at the gallery for another artist talk with Cheryl Pope on Saturday, December 1st at 4:30 pm. Back by popular demand,
    Cheryl will discuss how she works with students in high
    school to create banners reflecting their personal thoughts
    about identity. Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to hear
    from the artist about her fascinating project.
    Cheryl received her Bachelors of Fine Arts and Masters in
    Design from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
    After working as Nick Cave’s studio assistant for several
    years, Cheryl Pope now teaches fashion and continuing
    studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Cheryl
    has exhibited her works in galleries and museums
    throughout Chicago and internationally including the
    Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, the Art Institute of
    Chicago, and the Morgan Conservatory in Cleveland.

  • CHANUKAH CRAFTS

    Saturday December 1st the gallery will be holding its 19th annual event for kids ages 3-7 doing Chanukah arts and crafts from 10-11:30 am. The kids will be making menorahs and dreidels using a variety of materials. All kids are welcome and we look forward to the event!

  • GET THE SCOOP ON GLENCOE'S LATEST YOUNG ARTISTS

    On Tuesday, August 7th, a group of 5-year-old girls learned about collage and the style of Henri Matisse by creating their own collage canvases. Prior to diving into the project, the girls were given a guided tour of the gallery and works displayed by Rena Sternberg herself.

    The Rena Sternberg Gallery welcomes new work by emerging artist Montgomery Perry Smith. A sculptor, Smith creates startlingly unique artworks that blend organic and man-made elements. He primarily uses household and found objects in conjunction with various fibers and fabrics to create highly decorative sculptures that speak to the simple powers of beauty and taste.

    The CAIC is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) institution dedicated to providing educational support and performance
    opportunities to classical singers and musicians in the Chicago area. Our brief Saturday program showcases tenor
    David Hoffman and guitarist Bill Simmons performing works from Great Britain, Italy, Germany, and Latin America.
    Suggested donation $25 to the CAIC.

  • CHILDREN'S MEMORIAL NORTH SUBURBAN JUNIOR BOARD AT RENA STERNBERG GALLERY


    Rena Sternberg Gallery welcomes the North Suburban Medical Research Junior Board from Children's Memorial Hospital for their monthly board meeting. The NSMRJB meets on a monthly basis to plan fundraising events. They also invite guest speakers such as Children's Memorial physicians and researchers to educate NSMRJB board members about current medical issues, treatments, and advances. Board members also have the opportunity to tour Children's Memorial Hospital and Children's Memorial Research Center to stay informed of ongoing developments.
